We're a couple and both a 'bit' bitten by dog sport , each on a different level however.
Where for Charel is has to be correct and fast, forAnne-Marie it's all a bit looser :
"as long as he does the work"
Of course, all of this has a great impact on the results we both achieve.
Charel:
About 26 years ago, I bought my first dog - a Bouvier de Flandres pup - and went to look for a dog club to have some entertainment.
What started out as a hobby turned out to be a passion and it didn't take long before the 'dog-microbe' got a hold of me. 1 Year later I was not only a trainer but also a helper.
With this Bouvier I got IPO3.
About 3 dogs later,I got Romme, a Belgian shepherd
(Malinois) with whom I did 6 world championships. Absolute higlight with this dog was a second place on the 1996 Luxemburg WC
(100-97-95).
Later, Zor van het Kempens Glorie and
Dax vom Kandonckhof joined me; more info on these dogs can be found further on the website.
In my younger years (born in 1961) I was much asked as a helper on Belgian
and Dutch selection games and I also
functioned as a helper on the Tessenderlo WC.
Trough the years, I also assisted in training people's dogs on an international level.
Anne-Marie:
About 15 years ago, I saw people training their dogs at the dog club and because
of my passion for cats and dogs, I was much interested in also doing so.
My first dog was a female German shepherd, Prisca vom kandonckhof.
With her I got the IPO3 and played a few selection games. One time I even got selected for the Grand price of Belgium. Besides Prisca , I owned 2 other dogs with whom I've gained the IPO3 certificate : Onnegardens Frost (Eros) en Onnegardens Legil.
